Yunomi (tea bowl). Green ash glaze with iron "runs". Reduction fired to cone 10 (1300°C). Height 4 inches.
"This type of footed tea bowl is common in the East, especially in Japan, where it is used for green tea. The decoration is produced by painting iron oxide over the glaze. A strong flux, the iron melts and flows down the pot during the firing."
